Neighborhood Watch


Block Captain Responsibilities

  • Develop phone tree for your block or section of the neighborhood.  Obtain home and work phone and email address.  Distribute the phone tree to the people on the block as well as the District Coordinator.  (will take 2-5 hours)
  • Once the phone tree is developed, keep it updated as people move in and out.  Provide the updates to the District Coordinator. (1-2 hours once a year)
  • Distribute information from the District Coordinator to the people of the block or section. (varies, probably 1 hour a year)
  • Attend Neighborhood Watch meetings for the district once or twice a year.  Attend a CAPP meeting once a year on a rotation basis.
  • Handle incoming calls from their block regarding concerns and pass onto District Coordinator. (varies, probably 1-2 hours a year)
  • If leaving town for an extended period of time (1 week or more), notify the District Coordinator.
